Mouthwash For Sensitive Gums

We carry four types of antioxidant mouthwash for those with sensitive gums to consider:

We developed each one in close consultation with the dentist community. And while each one is specially formulated to target a specific dental issue, they are all packed with naturally occurring antioxidants, which are known for their anti-inflammatory properties. Rinse with one of these mouthwashes to remove any unhealthy build-up, and help improve your gum health - so you don’t have to stress about your mouth and can smile with confidence!

You can use our products for sensitive gums with our soothing dental gel. Minty and cooling, this aqueous gel reduces feelings of oral discomfort and promotes an improved appearance of your gums. Recommended by over 2600 dentists across the US, our oral care products are an effective way to take care of your teeth and gums.

    Salt Mouth Rinse Benefits

While many people only consider using a mouth rinse as a way to freshen the breath, these products offer a lot more benefits. Together with brushing and flossing, mouth rinses ensure good oral hygiene and reduce the chances of gum disease, tartar, plaque and many other problems linked with poor oral health.

Frequently Asked Questions

+ Why are my gums so sensitive all of a sudden?

Sudden gum sensitivity can be caused by any of the following factors.

  • Stress: When the body is under stress, it tries to regulate its response by releasing the stress hormone cortisol. However, a consequence of higher levels of cortisol is gum sensitivity.
  • Changes in your oral care routine: Sometimes using a new toothbrush with firmer bristles, or brushing and flossing longer and more vigorously than before, or swapping toothpastes for one with new ingredients can irritate your gums and make them more sensitive.
  • Hormonal changes: Puberty, pregnancy, menopause, or taking medications that influence hormone levels can lead to gum sensitivity. This is because an increase in the hormones estrogen and progesterone can increase the blood supply to the gums.
  • Gingivitis: The onset of gingivitis or gum disease, due to a buildup of plaque, can result in sensitive, swollen, or even bleeding gums
  • Dental procedures: Dental procedures, particularly whitening treatments, can cause temporary gum sensitivity.
  • Bruxism: Grinding your teeth, also known as bruxism, can contribute to sensitive gums.
+ How do you treat sensitive gums?

Here are a few ways to alleviate and prevent gum sensitivity:

  • Practice good oral hygiene by flossing and brushing your teeth twice daily after meals. Try to use a soft-bristle brush to avoid irritating your gums.
  • Use products specially formulated for sensitive gums.
  • Be mindful of your stress levels and try to take care of your physical and mental health.
  • Stop smoking or vaping, or limit how much you smoke, as that can aggravate gum sensitivity and contribute to gum disease.
  • See your dentist at least once a year for a check-up. If your gum sensitivity worsens, then consult a dentist as soon as you can.
Will your products help stop my gums bleeding when I brush?

Gums typically bleed when brushing or flossing due to gingivitis - an early stage of gum disease caused by a buildup of plaque. This plaque is a sticky film of bacteria that, if not regularly removed, irritates and inflames the gum tissue, leading to swelling and bleeding. Consistent daily oral care is the most effective way to address this inflammation and stop the bleeding. We recommend pairing our antioxidant toothpastes with our mouth rinses for best results.
